Explosion-proof motors

Explosion-proof motors are specially designed electric motors that are used in potentially explosive environments. Such environments are often found in the gas, oil and chemical industries, in the Mining as well as in areas where flammable gases, vapors or dust can occur.

Purpose of explosion-proof motors

The primary purpose of an explosion-proof motor is to minimize the risk of an explosion by preventing hot surfaces or electrical sparks from coming into contact with the surrounding explosive atmosphere. Various protection methods are used for this purpose.

Our products according to types of explosion protection
Flameproof enclosure (db)

Zone 1 / Zone 21

A flameproof asynchronous motor is characterized by its robust construction and high reliability, especially in explosive or extreme environments. These motors are specifically designed to operate safely in areas with potentially explosive gases or dusts without the risk of ignition.

Increased security (eb)

Zone 1 / Zone 21

An asynchronous motor in the increased safety version (eb) has been specially developed for use in potentially explosive areas to ensure increased operational safety. These engines are built in accordance with increased safety guidelines and standards and provide additional protection against ignition hazards.

Increased security (ec) formerly nA

An increased safety (ec) asynchronous motor, formerly known as nA, is specifically designed to ensure safety in explosive environments. These engines meet strict international standards and guidelines to minimize the risk of ignition hazards and maximize operational safety.

Protection by housing (tb/tc)

Zone 21 / Zone 22

An asynchronous motor in the version protected by housing tb or tc offers a reliable solution for applications that require protection against the ingress of dust. These motors are robustly constructed and meet specific enclosure protection requirements in accordance with international standards.
