Water-cooled engines

Water-cooled motors are a special type of electric motor that is cooled by water to ensure efficient heat dissipation. These motors are often used in applications where high performance is required for extended periods and effective cooling is critical.

Features

Water-cooled engines have an internal cooling system, usually consisting of cooling channels through which water is circulated to dissipate heat. This means they provide efficient cooling that prevents the engine from overheating and increases its lifespan. These engines are often designed for use in demanding environments and can operate reliably even under extreme conditions. Their design makes it possible to make the motors compact and at the same time achieve a high power density.

Applications

Water-cooled motors are used in a variety of applications, particularly those that require continuous and reliable performance. Typical applications include industrial applications such as pumps, fans, compressors and generators, where efficient cooling is crucial to prevent the engine from overheating. They are also used in the automotive industry, particularly in electric vehicles, to cool the batteries and drive components. In addition, they find application in aerospace, where effective cooling of engines and other electrical systems is essential to ensure operational safety.

Our range of services

Water-cooled motors offer an energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution for various applications. These motors are available in various sizes, with models up to size 280 being made of gray cast iron with cast cooling pipes and from size 315 onwards they are made of double-walled steel welded constructions. The equipment of the motors, including connection boxes, end shields, winding insulation, protection class and color, corresponds to the standard version.

A significant advantage of water cooling is the reduction in noise emissions compared to surface-cooled three-phase motors of the same power and size. The heat lost from the motors is efficiently dissipated without affecting the environment. The cooling principle enables a compact design of the motors, which enables higher performance and optimal vibration damping. Overall, water-cooled motors offer a reliable, powerful and quiet solution for various industrial applications.
